Binding your Graupner HoTT Receiver
Before you can use your Graupner HoTT radio, you will need to bind it to a receiver. Please check your radio manual for binding instructions.
PREPARING YOUR RADIO
mz-32 and mz-16 Radio
- From the main screen tap on the menu icon
- Select the base menu and then RF Set
- When ready to bind tap on the first available RXx button
mz-18 and mz-24 Radio (PRO and non PRO)
- From the main menu tap on the green BASE menu icon
- On the BASE menu tap on TX ctl icon
- When ready to bind, tap on the RX1 key
mz-12 and mz-12 PRO Radio
- Press the ENT key on the right keypad to get the radio main menu
- With the arrow keys, navigate to the RF sett. menu and press the ENT key
- Navigate to the RX Bind menu
- When ready to bind press the ENT key
X-8E and X-8N Radio
- Tap on the blue F button to get the settings menus
- Tap on the RF SET button
- Select the RF system you would like to use. For the GR-8 select HoTT V2 and for the GR-4 select HoTT
- When ready to bind tap on the bind button
PREPARING YOUR TELEMETRY RECEIVER
GR-12/GR-16/GR-24/GR-32 Receivers
Power your receiver (on the GR-12 make sure the negative brown or black wire is facing up) and observe the following:
- GR-16/GR-24/GR-32 red LED is blinking steadily
- GR-12 no LED blinking
Before you start the bind process make sure there is at least 2 feet distance between the radio and the receiver.
On the receiver press the SET button for about 3 seconds which puts the receiver in bind mode and observe the following:
- GR-16/GR-24/GR-32 LED is blinking rapidly blinking red and green indicating receiver is in bind mode
- GR-12 no LED blinking but should be in bind mode
On the radio start the bind process as described in the manual and observe the following:
- GR-12/GR-16/GR-24/GR-32 green LED is on (not blinking) which indicates a successful bind.
If unsuccessful, repeat the process above again until a successful bind can be established.
GR-12L Receiver
Power the GR-12L receiver and make sure the negative brown or black wire is facing up and observe the following:
- GR-12L LED is on
On the receiver press the SET button for about 3 seconds until the red LED is flashing which indicates the receiver is in bind mode and observe the following:
- GR-12L LED is turned off which indicates a successful bind.
If unsuccessful, repeat the process above again until a successful bind can be established.
GR-4/GR-8 Receiver
Power the GR-4/GR-8 and observe the following:
- Receiver LED is on (Red) on GR-4 and blinking on GR-8
On the receiver press the SET button for about 3 seconds and start the bind on your radio and observe the following:
- GR-4 LED is turned off which indicates a successful bind.
- GR-8 LED is turned green which indicates a successful bind.
If unsuccessful, repeat the process above again until a successful bind can be established.
PREPARING YOUR GYRO RECEIVER
GR-18AIR/GR-18PRO/GR-24PRO
Power your receiver and observe the following:
- Red LED is steadily ON (not blinking)
Before you start the bind process make sure there is at least 2 feet distance between the radio and the receiver.
On the receiver press the SET button for about 3 seconds to place the receiver in bind mode.
- The red LED will remain on and will not change it’s state.
On the radio start the bind process according to the radio manual and observe the following:
- Green LED is on (not blinking) which indicates a successful bind.
If unsuccessful, repeat the process above again until a successful bind can be established.
Falcon 12, Falcon 12 PLUS, S1038 and S1051, S1045 Serial Receivers
Power the Falcon receiver and make sure the negative brown or black wire is facing up and observe the following:
- Falcon Receiver red LED is ON
Before you start the bind process make sure there is at least 2 feet distance between the radio and the receiver.
The Falcon and Serial receivers do not have a bind button and will automatically revert to bind mode after 10-15 seconds.
- When the receiver is ready to bind (in bind mode) the red LED will be slowly blinking.
- On the radio start the bind process according to the radio manual and observe the following:
- The LED will turn off which indicates a successful bind.
If unsuccessful, repeat the process above again until a successful bind can be established.
TROUBLESHOOTING
- Make sure that there is a distance of at least 2 feet between the radio and receiver to eliminate any interference during binding.
- Check your power source. Make sure that there is at least 5 volts available (max 8.4 volt)
In some case it may be helpful to do a receiver factory reset as follows:
- Press and hold the receiver SET button while powering your receiver.
- Notice the steady green light on the GR-12 and blinking red/green light on the GR-16/GR-24/GR-32 LED.
- Keep the SET button pressed for about 4 seconds until the LED switches off and after a few seconds you will notice again LED activity.
This completes the factory reset of your receiver.
Note: A factory reset only resets the settings of the receiver to their default factory values. The bind state between the radio and receiver will remain active.
